IBS or Irritable Bowel Syndrome is a very common condition. Around 20% of Australians will experience symptoms of medically diagnosed IBS in their lifetime. Painful and uncomfortable symptoms such as cramping, bloating and abdominal pain are caused by muscle contractions in the large intestines.
We've blended together low FODMAP ingredients of organic peppermint, organic chocolate cacao shells, organic turmeric (activated) and organic lemon myrtle to create a delicious tasting tea that has been formulated to relax the muscles of the intestines and help relieve symptoms of IBS.
Herbal tea delivers the health properties of herbs directly to the digestive tract, making our IBS Tea a very effective tonic.
Our IBS Tea can be enjoyed by all - it's a great digestive tonic after meals and is packed with powerful antioxidants. Peppermint/choc flavours, slightly spicy with a lovely citrusy undertone.
Caffeine free.
Ingredients
-
Peppermint
Contains calmative properties and is soothing to the intestines. Used to relieve bowel spasms and relax intestinal muscles. Promotes digestion. Helps the liver detoxify the body. - Chocolate Cacao Shells
A powerhouse of antioxidants and health benefits. Used as a prebiotic to promote beneficial gut bacteria. Cacao Husk Tea is high in magnesium, fibre and potassium. It’s also a great pick-me-up and feel good drink as Cacao Husk contains Theobromine to help the body release its natural endorphins -
Turmeric
The active compound curcumin that is found in turmeric has been found to help improve symptoms of IBS, particularly abdominal pain. - Lemon Myrtle
Used as a digestive aid, particularly for bloating, gas and indigestion. - Ground Black Pepper
The process of adding ground pepper 'activates' turmeric and the bioavailability of the curcumin content to the body increases massively.
IBS is very individual - some foods may trigger one individual but not another. If you find you experience any discomfort after drinking this tea, it may be best to discontinue.
